Obituary
Annie L. Gomes 102, of Dickerman St., New haven died Dec 31, 2005 at Yale-NHH. Mrs. Gomes was born in Orangeburg SC, daughter of the late Agnes Rebecca Golds Perry and the late Andrew Moore. She attended Orangeburg Schools and the Mr Pisgah Baptist Church. She worked various jobs as a domestic. She later worked at Yale Univ. where she remained until she was 94. She retired as a Lab Aid to Dr. Coleman. Annie was a faithful member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, serving on the Gospel Choir, Willing Workers and the Usher Board. Annie is survived by a sister, Ann Lee Trynham, her children, Alfred Gomes, August (Nancy) Gomes, Harold Gomes, James "Virgil" (Johnnie) Gomes, Gloria Ammons, Elliott Gomes, Patrick Gomes. 39 Grandchildren, 71 Great-grandchildren, A sister in law, Cahterine Perry. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Andrew and Agnes Moore, her husband, Jose Gomes, her children, Murdell Gomes, Jose Gomes, Agnes Richardson, Anthony Gomes, Nancy Rose Shaw May, her grandchildren, Debbie Gomes, , Elbert "JoJo" Mitchell, Harold Gomes, Glenn Gomes, Leo Bethea and great-grandchildren, Dawn Mitchell, Jerome Gomes, John Autry, and Trelon Shaw. Her brothers, James Legree and James Perry.
